Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications

The Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications (FET) at Poznan University of Technology is one of the top rated research and educational institutions in Poland. It maintains standards of excellence in teaching and research, leadership in professional affairs and high visibility. The FET was established in October 2006 based on the previous Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications, set up in 1985 (The IE&T was  renamed from the former Institute of Electronics, established in 1974). The extension of the Institute's name reflected major changes in research and education which have occurred in the last decades. Now the unit is one of 10 faculties of Poznan University of Technology.

The FET mission is to provide graduate and undergraduate education and to conduct research in information and communication technologies. Innovation and breadth of opportunity are the hallmarks of the FET educational experience. Educational programs can be taken on a full time or weekend basis. All available courses are designed to meet a variety of challenges by providing professional training as we continue to respond to the diverse needs of the information age. Our curriculum provides students with a superb background for careers in an increasingly technological society.

The 18th European Wireless Conference - EW 2012

The 18th European Wireless Conference (EW 2012) will take place in Poznań, Poland, from 18-20 April 2012 and will be hosted by Poznań University of Technology with the cooperation of Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Electrical Engineering. The 2012 edition is aimed at addressing a key theme on "Cooperative Communications". Cooperative algorithms in the physical and higher layers help in approaching theoretical performance limits of wireless systems. Acceptance of submitted papers will be based on quality, relevance and originality. Proposals for special sessions and tutorials are also invited. Proceedings of EW 2012 will be available on CD and will be published in IEEEXplore.

Picture Coding Symposium 2012

The Chair of Multimedia Telecommunication and Microelectronics is an organiser of the international conference on image compression. Picture Coding Symposiums are worldwide recognized as the most important conferences in the field of image compression and are organised alternately in Europe, North America and Far East each 18 months. In 2012, it will be the first time that the conference comes to Central Europe. The conference will be held on May 7-9, 2012 in Krakow.
